A Living Love Story

Since Mr. Livings and I first met, we have been inseparable. Within a few months after meeting, Mr. Livings was talking marriage and we wed shortly thereafter. We both knew we had found our "one" - the love of our life...and beyond. It's the best feeling in the world to be together.

Mr. Livings and I both know that there never will be enough time for us in this lifetime to be together. A lifetime is just not enough, we both so often say. And it be true. But some things time spans on...

Here is a picture of us, in Oakland, where we first met...

And here is a picture of us on our first date, where ate pizza together (we also had pizza and drinks as our meal after our wedding as well)...on a street in Oakland that is such a very special street as part of our history and story...

...the street where, at the end of the street, we would meet up at the gates and walk and talk...in the place where we first held hands...

...where we'd walk upon so many lovely walks down the paths and through the trees...nothing in the world but the other's eyes...

...The street where Mr. Livings bought me all my favorite flowers one day...

...and later that night I made us the soup and the famous biscuits...

...The street of the bench and the fleece and the late night cups of tea...

...The street where we first kissed...

...And the street where the first photo of us together was taken...by a friend of Mr. Livings who had known him a long time before we met...and who after seeing us together on so many occasions, though he had a tendency to be a cynic in general, told us that after seeing us together, he now fully believed that two people could have their "one," that two people could be made just for each other...literally...

So, because of all these wonderful memories, this is a very special street to we. There have been so many places special to us in the many years since, but this was the street that started the story...from which all other stories began...Like the amazing day...the greatest day of days...the day we became husband and wife...the day we wed...

Here is a photo below of us, a few days before we wed, when we went down to the county clerk's office in Oakland to apply for our marriage license. In the photo below we are walking in to file:

...Which we then brought with us on our wedding day:

We married on a weekday in Oakland, California in a small, intimate, and peaceful wedding ceremony beneath a lovely tree. I wore a sweet blue dress I had found secondhand, and Mr. Livings wore the suit he already had. A friend brought the flowers for Mr. Livings and I, and a friend took our wedding pictures, using my camera I had brought with me and a roll of film.

We wrote our own vows to each other that we spoke at the ceremony. I don't think there have ever been more beautiful or meaningful or lovely or profound words as Mr. Livings' wedding vows to me. Our eyes both teared with joy as we each spoke our vows and heard our vows. The vows...eternity...

I thought my friend took such wonderful photos of us too, during and after the wedding...

Like the bumper sticker we put on our car in Vermont (the car that we still have), our wedding was like our life. We like to keep it simple...We like to keep it us...Our wedding was perfectly...simply...us...And in that moment as we wed, there was no one there at all to we. The whole world was the other's eyes. It was so beautiful.

So many people, after we told all our family and friends all the wedding details afterwards...or when they saw the various pictures from our wedding and honeymoon framed around our first apartment in Oakland, said they wished that was how their own wedding could have been or their future wedding might be…so simple and peaceful…so lovely, small, and stress-free…They also loved the blue dress that I wore as we wed and that we went out for pizza after our wedding for our wedding meal…"Best wedding ever," so many said, which was very sweet. For Mr. Livings and I, it was the very best and happiest of days…Again, at last, husband and wife. It is the best feeling in the world to marry your best friend and your one across eternity.

After our wedding in Oakland, we then honeymooned at the sea...

...where we spent our days beside the ocean...so lovely it was...walking beside the waters...listening to the waves crash...marveling at the wonder and at the beauty...Just being...And also adventuring around.

Such peace...

...and at night we watched the stars...

...As the place where we honeymooned, this place is a very, very special place to we...

We love it so...

Then here we are, after returning from our honeymoon, when we went to court to get a paper that is so incredibly meaningful to us both...To get something that Mr. Livings first thought of, and suggested to me, and wanted for us both more than anything...our name we together share...that means SO much to we...

And here we are headed across the country, crossing West to East...stopping to look at the most wonderful sunset across a cornfield, the sky scattered with fireflies...It was breathtaking...

And here we are together in such lovely evening light...

...and watching flight...forever wondrous...

...so many fun moments we've shared...smiling so...

And here we are gathering wildflowers and flowers from our cutting garden...to bring inside...

...and in the garden together being...each the other's best friend...partner...life...

For eternity be this love, Mr. Living so often says.  And it be true. And we both each day feel so thankful and so grateful.

For we each found our one.

It is the best thing in the world.
